Invitation for Tenders
This Invitation for Tenders follows the General Procurement Notice for this Project which appeared in PPRA Portal 30th August, 2019
The Tanzania Electric Supply Company Limited (TANESCO) has set aside funds for its operations during financial year 2019/2020 and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of these funds to cover eligible payments under the contract for which this invitation is issued.
TANESCO now invites sealed tenders from eligible Local Manufacturers for Supply of Transformers under Framework arrangement.
Tendering will be conducted through the Restricted National Competitive Bidding (RNCB) specified in the Public Procurement Regulations, 2013 Government Notice No. 446 read together with Public Procurement Amendment Regulation, 2016 Government Notice No 333 and is restricted to only Local Manufacturers.
The scope of supply will involve supply of Transformers categorized in five (5) Lots. Bidders are free to bid for any complete lot or combination of lot(s) of their choice; Each Lot will be awarded to the bidders who will be found the lowest evaluated bidder; however the award for each bidder shall not be more than two (2) lot also the employer may award one lot to more than one bidder. First Orders will be given to all successful bidders; next orders will be given to the suppliers who have successfully completed the delivery of the previous order.

LOT 3. Kinondoni South Region
LOT 4. Temeke Region
LOT 5. Coast Region
Interested eligible Tenderers may obtain further information from and inspect the Tendering Documents at the office of the Secretary of the Delegated Zone Tender Board, TANESCO DSM & COAST Zone PO. Box 2233 Dar es Salaam. Telephone No. +255 0738736775 from 09:00hrs to 16:00hrs on Mondays to Fridays inclusive except on public holidays.
A complete set of Tendering Document(s) in English and additional sets may be purchased by interested Tenderers on the submission of a written application to the address given under paragraph 7 above and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of TZS. 100,000.00 Plus 18% VAT or equivalent Payment should be made through TANESCO Bank account.
All Tenders must be accompanied by Bid Securing Declaration in the format provided in the Tendering Documents specific for each Lot.
All tenders in one original plus three (3) copies, properly filled in, and enclosed in plain envelopes clearly marked TENDER No PA/00112019-20/DZN/G/03 FOR SUPPLY OF TRANSFORMERS AT DSM & COAST ZONE UNDER FRAMEWORK CONTRACT NOT TO BE OPENED BEFOREl4z30 HOURS LOCAL TIME ON 19th December, 2019 must be delivered to the address: Secretary Delegated Zonal Tender Board. TANESCO-DSM & COAST Zone Ministry of Energy and Minerals SAMORA AVENUE P.0. Box 2233 Dar es Salaam. Telephone No. +255 0738736775, at or before 14.30 hours (Local Time) on Friday 20th December, 2019. Tenders will be opened promptly thereafter in public and in the presence of Tenderers’ representatives who choose to attend in the opening Ceremony at TANESCO Zonal Office; Ministry of Energy and Minerals Building, Fourth Floor, Room No. 422.
Tenders, Portion of Tenders, Electronic Tenders. Tenders not received. Tenders not opened and not read out in public at the tender opening ceremony shall not be accepted for evaluation irrespective of the circumstances.
