Invitation for Tender

1. This Invitation for Tenders follows the cancelled invitation for this Project which appeared in Zanzibar Leo Issue no. 5671 of 22nd March 2019.
2. The Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar has set aside funds for the
operation of the State University of Zanzibar during the financial year 2019/2020. It is intended that part of the proceeds of the fund will be used to
cover eligible payment under the contract for the Rehabilitation of various
Parts of Nkrumah Buildings.
3. The State University of Zanzibar now invites sealed tenders from eligible
National contractors registered in Class six and above for construction of
Rehabilitation of various parts of Nkrumah Campus Buildings.
4. Tendering will be conducted through the Open Domestic procedure
specified in the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Asset Act No. 11
of 2016 and is open to national Tenderers.
5. Interested eligible Tenderers may obtain further information from and
inspect the Tendering Documents at the Office of the Secretary of the
Tender Board in Procurement and Disposal Management Unit ( PDMU)
office TRANSLED Building at Tunguu Campus P. O. Box 146, Zanzibar
from 9.30 am to 3.30 pm from Mondays to Fridays inclusive except on
public holidays and weekends or through email [email protected].
6. A complete set of Tendering Documents in English and additional sets
may be purchased by interested Tenderers on the submission of a written
application to the address given under paragraph 5 above and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Tanzania shillings One Hundred Thousand (TZS 100,000.00). Payment should either be by Cheque or bank transfer payable to the State University of Zanzibar or cash paid to the following account detail.

7. All Tenders must be accompanied by a Tender security in an acceptable
form in the amount of TZS 1,000,000.00 or freely convertible currencies in
case of foreign Tenderers in the form of Bank Guarantee.
8. All tenders in one original plus two (2), properly filled in and enclosed in plain envelopes must be delivered to the address below at or before 30th July 2019, 10.30 am. Tenders will be opened promptly thereafter in public and in the presence of Tenderers’ representatives who choose to attend in the opening at the State University of Zanzibar, Conference Room, 1st Floor, Administration Building, Tunguu Campus.
9. Late tenders, portion of tenders, electronic tenders, tenders not received,
tenders not opened and not read out in public at the tender opening
ceremony shall not be accepted for evaluation irrespective of the
circumstance.
