EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST

CONSULTANCY SERVICES ON THE SUSTAINABILITY OF THE STRUCTURED ENGINEERS APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMME (SEAP) ON GRADUATE ENGINEERS

TENDER NO. AE/001/2018-19/HQ/C/75

1. The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania has received financing from world Bank towards the cost of the Dar es Salaam urban Transport improvement Project (DUTP) and intends to apply part of the proceeds for Consultancy Services on the Sustainability of the Structured Engineers Apprenticeship Programme (SEAP) on Graduate Engineers.

2. The consulting services (the Services’) include Consultancy Services on the Sustainability of the SEAP on Graduate Engineers performed by the Engineers’ Registration Board (ERB). which is mandated with SEAP training. The timeframe for the execution of this assignment is 5 months.

3. The Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS), an Agency of the Ministry of Works. Communication and Transport now invites eligible individual Consultants to indicate their interest in providing the Services, interested Consultants should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services. Such information may include updated detailed CV duly signed and copies of academic, testimonial and professional certificates. The interested Consultants should have the following qualifications and experience

(I) Minimum a degree m Engineering. Post graduate qualification m engineering or related field from a reputable University will be an added advantage.

(II) Must have at least 20 years cumulative experience in Engineering practice and/or Engineering training and management;

(III) within the last ten (10) years, she/he must have served as Individual/ independent Consultant in similar or related studies in at least two (2) assignments and should possess experience in planning and implementation of work based learning including formal apprenticeships and strategic road mapping towards effective resources mobilization and utlization of related operations.

(IV) Must have a working experience of at least three (3) years in Developing countries; and

(V) Proficiency in written and spoken English language.

4. The attention of interested Consultants is drawn to paragraph 1.9 of the world Banks Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits & Grants by World Bank Borrowers. January 2011. Revised July 2014 (‘Consultant Guidelines’), setting forth the World Banks policy on conflict of interest.

5. A Consultant will be selected in accordance with the Selection of individual consultants method set out in the Consultant Guidelines.

6. Further information can be obtained at the address below during office hours from 0800 – 16:30 hours local time. Mondays to Fridays inclusive, except on Public Holidays.

7. Expressions of interest must be delivered in a written form to the address below (in person, or by mall, or by e-mail) on or before 10:00 hours local time on 10th June. 2019.
