REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS RE-ADVERTISED

Conducting Climate Risk Profile and Developing Environmental and Climate Change Guideline for the selected regions in Tanzania

The Agricultural Markets Development Trust (AMDT) is implementing interventions aimed at unleashing large-scale systemic changes in the agricultural sector in Tanzania such that productive poor women, men and youths are able to take full advantage of more inclusive. resilient and competitive agricultural markets systems. Currently. AMDT targets three agricultural value chains namely; Sunflower, Maize and Pulses.

In Tanzania, agriculture sector is undergoing substantial stress from climate change-induced increases in temperature, variability in rainfall and extreme weather events that could trigger crop failures, pest and disease outbreaks, and the degradation of land and water resources. Women and youth play vital roles in ensuring food security and enhancing agricultural productivity. Therefore, this assignment seeks to fill that gap by supporting work to investigate the gender dimensions of responding to climate change in the agriculture and food security sectors. The final goals are to increase crop productivity, livelihood security and gender equality in the context of the changing climate

AMDT is now seeking for the services of a suitably qualified organization/ firm to perform the following;

(i). Conducting Climatic Risks Profiling in the following regions: (a) Manyara Region (Manyara Rural and Hanang districts); (b) Songwe Region (Momba and Mbozi districts) (c) Njombe regions (Njombe rural and Ludewa districts) (d) Rukwa region (Kalambo and Sumbawanga districts) and (e) Dodoma region (Kongwa and Kondoa districts).

(ii). Developing of Environmental and Climate Change Guideline, which will provide the following deliverables: (a) a detailed Environment and climate Risk assessment Guideline for practice in the field. The end use of the guidelines will be AMDT partners, government institutions and other stakeholders and (b) a detailed tool for monitoring and reporting environmental and climate risks.
