BABATI WATER AND SANITATION AUTHORITY

REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL CAPACITY NEEDS ASSESSMENT CONSULTANCY

WaterAid is seeking to appoint suitably qualified consultant to undertake a rapid institutional analysis baseline performance analysis and capacity needs assessment and participatory planning workshop with the Babati Urban Water located in Babati Manyara Region Tanzania. This work is intended to provide the preparatory stages in the establishment of a water operator partnership (WOP) between BAWASA and south west water and sewerage located in the south west-region of the UK

Background Babati
Babati is situated within the est Africa the ift valley. It has population of 93,108(2012) and sits across road between Arusha, Singida Dodoma Mbulu and Simanjiro, covering area 460.86 KM. The region of Manyara was established in 2020 and Babati Town was announced as the regional headquarter in 2004. The economic activities of the babati are primarily crop farming and livestock keeping indicating that the town is still in transition from rural to urban. It has four major processing plants for sunflowers and over 100 small processing plants for various agriculture procedure

WATERAIDS and WOPs
waterAid an international non-government organization was founded in 1981 by the UK Water industry and retains a uniquely close relationship allowing it to call upon the industry not only for financial resources but also access to skills and knowledge in WASH services delivery. This support now takes the form of a growth portfolio of the WOPs which are not-for-profit partnership that helps a utility to improve it capacity and performance with the support of peer utility. This approach recognize the criteria role of professional WASH services provider play as the primary vehicle by which universal access to wash will be achieved

Eligible interested bidders should submit both financial and technical proposal in sealed envelope to WATERAID TANZANIA OFFICE before 4th March 2020 at 10: 00 am East Africa Time bids shall be addressed to country director water aid Tanzania P.O.
