NOTICE is hereby issued to the public that the Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority (EWURA), has received an application for a Water Supply and Sanitation License Renew from Mtwara Water Supply and Sanitation Authority (Mtwara WSSA) (“The Applicant”) for provision of water and sanitation services in Mtwara/Mikindani Municipality, Nanyamba Township and part of Mtwara District Council, in Mtwara Region EWURA IS inviting comments from the public on the application. Particulars of the Applicant are as provided below:

2. Types of Licence Applied
Licence to provide Water Supply and Sanitation in Mtwara/Mikindani Municipal, Nanyamba Township and part of Mtwara District Council.
3: Water Sources and Infrastructures
Mtwara Water Supply and Sanitation Authority (Mtwara WSSA) draws eater from boreholes at Mtawanya well-field, Rwelu well-field, Mbuo boreholes and Mchuchu water source. The combined production capacity of all water source is 19,632 cubic meters per day. The applicant’s water production and storage infrastructure consists of sixty eight (68) water storage tanks with a total capacity of 8,045 cubic meters. Also, the applicant has one water treatment plant and water network with a total length of 293km with a total of 314 water kiosks.
4: Ownership Structure
Mtwara Water Supply and Sanitation Authority (Mtwara WSSA) is 100% owned by the Government the United Republic of Tanzania.
Any person who wishes to make any representation or objection with respect to the application should do so in writing to EWURA at the hereunder mentioned address within twenty-one (21) days from the date of publication of this notice.
