EXPRESSION OF INTEREST/REQUEST FOR INFORMATION

PROVISION OF UNDERGROUND ACCESS AND INFRASTRUCTURE OPTION – LOGISTIC CONSIDERATION FOR SHAFT TRANSITION FOR GEITA GOLD MINING LIMITED

I. INTRODUCTION
Geita Gold Mine – GGML ( the company) an AngloGold Ashanti Ltd(AGA) subsidiary is located in North Western Tanzania in the Lake Victoria Goldfields of Geita Region about 120 KM from Mwanza and 4 KM West of the town of Geita
The purpose of the EOI/RFI is to explore the market for competent consultant/contractors with the requisite technical skills and knowledge and financial capacity to undertake the provision for underground access and infrastructure option to Geita Gold Mine Ltd
The responses of this EOI/RFI will be used to shortlist capable services providers that will be invited respond to the main tender for the provision of underground access and infrastructure options – logistic consideration for shaft transition for Geita Gold. The details and dates for the issues of the main tender will be communicated to shortlisted companies only. It is necessary to respond to this REO/RFI in order to be pre-qualified to be considered for the main tender

SCOPE OF THE WORK BRIEF
Underground access and infrastructure options logistic consideration for shaft transition
the purpose of the conceptual study is to determine the underground access infrastructure that is required to support logistical arrangement for the execution of the life mine schedule at depth
the study will inform the mine on the most cost-effective underground material and rock handling option and the required access infrastructure for the nyakanga and geita hill mining complex. The increasing downward plunge and potential reserves at depth dictates that the work focuses on logistic requirements and infrastructure capacity to support the mine plan and critical factors to be considered potential from existing ramps layout to vertical shaft solution

  • Technical capability
  • Previous records on the same supply/services
  • Relevant insurance & liabilities
  • Performance bond in case selected

GENERAL INFORMATION REQUIRED
The below information in order to conclude the pre-qualification evaluation set out below

  • Detailed services providers information with organization structure list of manpower with CV of key personnel parent company (if applicable) support agencies and other facilities and resources
  • Detailed of completion of similar type of contract I the last 3 years and similar contract agreements currently under execution covering
    a. brief scope of works
    b. Value of work in Tanzania Shillings
    c. Contract duration
    d. Clients name
    e. Contact details of client(GGML may approach the client directly for feedback health, safety and environment statistic’s(HSE) Lost time injury graph etc
    f. f. At least 3 reference letters from existing clients required

Details of business presence in Tanzania

Provide details on local content including

  • Local procurement of goods and services
  • Local employment and training practices
  • Details of percentage of managerial and non- managerial position held by Tanzania citizen
  • Shareholding structure if the shareholder
  • Local research and development expenditure
  • A copy of the latest local content plan and local content performance report as submitted o the mining commission or equivalent information if no prior reports and plans have been submitted

List of policies procedures and quality assurance practices currently in place for the execution of similar work

List of HSE management system HSE policy and implementation procedures in line with internationally accepted practice

Quality assurance & quality control plan procedures in place for the execution of similar type of work copy of ISO or any other certificates

Service provider’s financial performance documentation (audited balance sheet, profit and loss account & cash flow statement auditor’s report and notes to accounts) for the last 3 years

OWNERSHIP Please provide the following information about your organization ownership/partners/members

  • For privately owned companies, list of all the owners, their nationality and respective percentage ownership of your organization
  • For publicly traded companies a list of all shareholders holding more than 5% with details of their nationality and percentage ownership

QUALIFICATION EVALUATION CONSIDERATION

In evaluating the interested bidders GGML will consider the following

  1. Service Reliability – prospective bidders to indicate the approach that will adopt the ensure quality of the capital items, particularly in the mining sector and in the remote location
  2. Capability prospective bidders to give the details of their capability regarding the provision of service to similar size of client as GGML ( at least 3 reference letters from the existing customers are required)
  3. Health Safety and Environment – prospective bidders to give detail of their health, safety and environmental management system
  4. Permit and certification – prospective bidders to provide details and evidence of permit and registration issued by the relevant government authorities including OSHA and other statutory bodies regulating he related services
  5. Sustainability – prospective bidders to give details of their local labor sourcing and training plans as well as details of any commitment to the social development of the area where GGML is located
  6. Financial capability – prospective bidders to provide details of their financial capability supporting their ability to render the service
  7. Local Content – Prospective bidders to demonstrate their compliance with the requirements as set out in the Tanzania Mining Local content regulation 2018 as amended in 2019

Interested parties must submit their expression letter of interest together with supporting information to GGML which states full name, address, telephone and email address of the interested party, name of the principal contact and signed by an authorized representative’s. The LOI must outline a statement of firm’s capability to provide the relevant services, including similar contact undertaken over the past 3 years. All LOIs and support documentations must be received by the GGML officer via email at [email protected] no later than08:30 AM 24 July 2020 LOI submission deadline) EOI Submission should not exceed 10 MB re email. In case the size of the email exceed 10 MB please split the submission into the more than on email
