INVITATION FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

PRE-QUALIFICATION OF CONTRACOTRS FOR THE PROVISION OF COMISSIONARY SERVICES AT GEITA GOLD MINE TANZANIA

I. INTRODUCTION
Geita Gold Mine – GGML ( the company) an AngloGold Ashanti Ltd(AGA) subsidiary is located in North Western Tanzania in the Lake Victoria Goldfields of Geita Region about 120 KM from Mwanza and 4 KM West of the town of Geita

The company currently employs about 1,780 direct employees and hosts2100 contractors

The company is in the process of assessing penitential contractors for provision of commissary services for its operations and is therefore inviting interested eligible services providers to submit their expression of interest for the provision of these services

II. INFORMATION REQUIRED
The below information is required in order to conclude the pre-qualification evaluation set out below

  1. Detailed service providers information with organization structure list of manpower with CVs of key personnel, parent company if applicable) support agencies and other facilities and resources
  2. Details of completion of similar type of contractors in the last three years and similar contracts/agreement currently under execution under headings
    a. brief scope of works
    b. Value of work in Tanzania Shillings
    c. Contract duration
    d. Clients name
    e. Contact details of client(GGML may approach the client directly for feedback health, safety and environment statistic’s(HSE) Lost time injury graph etc
    f. At least 3 reference letters from existing clients required
  3. Details of business presence in Tanzania
  4. Provide details on local content including
    a. Local procurement of goods and services
    b. Local employments and training practices
    c. Details of percentages of managerial and non-managerial position held by Tanzania citizen
    d. Local research and development expenditure
    e. A copy of the latest local content plan and local content performance report as submitted to the mining commission or equivalent information if no prior reports and plans have been submitted
  5. List of polies, procedures and assurance practice currently in place for the execution of similar work
  6. Lists of HSE management system, HSE policy and implementation procedures in line with internationally accepted practice
  7. Quality assurance and quality control procedure in place for the execution of similar type of work, copy of ISO or any other certification as applicable
  8. Service provider financial performance document(audient balance sheet profit and loss account and cash flow statement auditors report and notes to accounts) for last 3 years
  9. OWNERSHIP: please provide the following information about your organization ownership/partners/members
    9.1 for privately owned companies a list of all the owners their nationality and respective percentage ownership of your organization
    9.2 for publicly traded companies a list of all shareholders holding more than 5% with details of their nationality and percentage owners

III. PRE QUALIFICATIONS EVALUATION CONSIDERATION

In evaluating the interested bidders GGM will consider the following

  1. Service Reliability – prospective bidders to indicate the approach they will adopt to ensure uninterrupted commissary services preferably in the mining sector and in remote location
  2. Capability: prospective bidders to give The details of their capability regarding the provision services to similar size of client as GGML( at least e reference letters from existing customers as required)
  3. Health Safety and Environment; Prospective bidders to give details of their health safety and environmental management system
  4. Permit and certification: Prospective bidders to provide details and evidence of the permit and registration issued by the relevant Government departments including OSHAS, TMDA and any other statutory requirements related to the services
  5. Sustainability: prospective bidders to give provide details of their local labor sourcing plans and training plans as well as details of any commitment to the social development of the areas where AngloGold Ashanti miner are located
  6. Financial Capability – prospective bidders to provide details of their financial capability supporting their ability to render the services
  7. Local Content – prospective bidders to demonstrate their compliance with the requirements as set out in Tanzania Mining (local content) regulations 2018 as amended

Interested parties must submit their expression letter of interest together with supporting information to GGML which states full name, address, telephone and email address of the interested party, name of the principal contact and signed by an authorized representative’s. The LOI must outline a statement of firm’s capability to provide commissary services, including similar contact undertaken over the past 3 years. All LOIs and support documentations must be received by the GGML officer via email at [email protected] no later than 12:00 PM 4 March 2020 LOI submission deadline) EOI Submission should not exceed 10 MB re email. In case the size of the email exceed 10 MB please split the submission into the more than on email
