INVITATION FOR APPLICATION OF CONSULTANCY WORK

SCOPE OF THE WORK TB DIAGNOSTIC NETWORK ASSESSMENT (TB DNA) VERIFICATION VISIT

BACKGROUND

USAID has supported the development of the TB-NET tool to provide a means to evaluate the capacity and functionality of country tuberculosis TB Diagnostic network. The tool endorsed by the global laboratory initiative has be used in Nigeria, Uganda and India and undergone updates after each assessment

The infection disease detection and surveillance project has been tasked to further develop and update the TB-NET tool a)ensure that key components and capabilities are included in response to various country contexts and setting b) update the electronic version of the tool to ensure ease of the use in the field and ability to analyze the date in real-time and c) develop different version of the tool to accommodate varying levels of need capacity and resources to carry out TB Diagnostic network assessment

IDDS committed to review and propose a new version of the TB-NET tool.  This includes all core capacities additional data collection tools and checklists and development of additional support in documentation. Developing this version entails refining the current tools based on lesson learned from implementation of the tool in different settings best practices update world health organization guidelines and other organization recommendation and guidelines

SCOPE OF THE WORK OF THIS CONSULTANCY

The Consultancy Will Actively Be Part of Tanzania TB DNA BY

  1. Providing technical expertise and support during the verification visit preparation phase by reviewing data document and analytical for the assessment of one or more of the following areas
  2. The capacity of diagnostic laboratories for microbiological confirmation and during sensitivity testing
  3. Linkage of community screening and referral mechanism to diagnostic facilities
  4. Linkage of traditional medicine practitioners to diagnostic
  5. Linkage of diagnostic facilities to clinicians
  6. Identify gaps and areas to improve TB diagnostic and treatment for people living with HIV
  7. The capacity of diagnostic data management system that support screening and diagnostic laboratories
  8. The access to the quality assured diagnostic, current practices of specimen/patient system and results reporting
  1. Participating in the verification visit desk review, site visiting and data analysis of one or more of the above assessment areas outlined in part a
  2. Drafting the verification visit key findings and recommendations
  3. Assisting the IDDS international external assessors to finalize the overall Tanzania TB DNA report specific task and allocated level of effort for each consultancy are presented below

Period of performances July 20 – August 14th 2020 this includes travel to a health zone in Tanzania tentatively from August 10th -12th 03 days in the health zone this date is tentative and subjected to change
