1.INTRODUCTION
Williamson Diamond Limited is a diamond mine 23 kilometers (14 miles) northeast of Shinyanga in Tanzania; it is known as the first significant Diamond mine outside of South Africa and was established in 1940 by Dr. John Williamson, a Canadian geologist. The mine is an open pit operation based upon the 146 hectare Mwadui kimberlite pipe, which is the words largest economic kimberlite to have seen continuous mining. Petra Diamonds Limited (Petra) Acquired Its 75% Stake in Williamson in February 2009 and has shared ownership with the Government of Tanzania (which has a 25% holding) since this time.
The company is in the process of procuring Slope Stability Rader machine therefore, inviting interested eligible service provides to submit Experience of interest.
The purpose of EOI/RH is to explore the supply market for competent Supplier with the requisite technical skills and knowledge and financial capacity to undertake the supply and delivery of slope stability radar machine.
The responses to this EOI/RH will be used to shortlist capable services provides that will be invited to respond the main tender for the provision of slope stability radar machine for Williamson Diamond Limited. The details and dates for the issue of the main tender will be communicated to the shortlisted companies. It is necessary to respond to this EOI/RH in order to be prequalified to be considered for the main tender.
Scope of work
Due to safety reasons for both workers and machines Williamson Diamond Limited is required to have pit slope monitoring equipment as mining operation is continuing going deeper and deeper.
