Senior Program Design Specialist – Education
The
Education Specialist will lead the design and support the
implementation of evidence-based education programs in alignment with
Compassion’s theory of change. The specialist will provide support to
National Offices in developing and implementing strategies and
interventions in partnership with Frontline Church Partners to improve
the educational attainment of those they serve. They will also support
the formal and non-formal education interventions, manage the
development, contextualization, implementation and learning of
operational models and strategies that contribute to implement
Compassion’s program globally.
Through cross-functional
collaboration, this specialist will closely work with Child Protection
and other Technical Specialists to ensure and support strengthened
integrated programming, and information sharing, particularly at the
program design phase and implementation. This person will also play a
leadership role supporting and building the capacity of National Offices
staff and relevant stakeholders to increase impact and enable positive
change for children and youths.
What will you do?
- Maintains

Compassion’s ministry in prayer. - Acts as an advocate to raise
the awareness of the needs of children. Understands Christ’s mandate to
protect children. Commits to and prioritizes child protection
considerations in all decision-making, tasks and activities across the
ministry. Abides by all behavioral expectations in Compassion’s
Statement of Commitment to Child Protection and Code of Conduct. Reports
any concerns of abuse, neglect or exploitation of children through
Compassion’s internal reporting process and appropriately supports
responses to incidents if they occur. - Focusing on Compassion’s
overall theory of change and outcomes framework, provides expert
consulting in education domain to National Offices. - Works with staff to foster an environment of professional growth, in alignment with compassion’s strategies and objectives.
- Leads
the design and development of global catalogues of evidence-based
guidelines for the education domain (Formal Education and Non-Formal
Education), including theory, standards, activities, tools and resources
and indicators. - Ensure that the education interventions adhere to the guidelines and framework of programming.
- Contribute to the education interventions through supporting the contextualization and implementation of needs assessment tools.
- Support the contextualization and implementation of National Offices (NOs) Education strategy.
- Reviews Complementary Interventions (CIV) proposals submitted by NOs and gives relevant recommendations.
- Guide
and advice the education interventions implementation, providing
feedback and technical support to improve programming and programmatic
approaches. - Work with other technical sectors to ensure that the
needs of children and youths are addressed comprehensively and that
synergies are considered at the design phase. - Together with the
Monitoring, Evaluation Research and Learning (MERL) team, defines and
develops relevant metrics utilized to track overall education domain
program development and implementation success across the organization.
Analyzes data for improvement opportunities and makes recommendations
for increased efficiency / effectiveness. - Promote a continuous
learning environment to support evidence-based interventions to national
offices and the front line-church partners (FCPs) they serve, to
provide holistic development to caregivers, children, and youth. - Provide
on-demand technical advising to National Office teams to strengthen
strategies, interventions and outcomes for the education domain - Serves
as a key leader to mentor, equip and build capacity of the existing
education staff and oversee the start-up of the new education
interventions. - Co-facilitating shared learning around the education domain through a global Community of Practice (CoP).
- Networks
with other like-minded ministries and organizations within the industry
in order to identify, evaluate, and recommend potential strategic
partnerships related to interventions in the Education domain.

Education
- Master’s degree in Education or a relevant subject.
- Experience
- 8+ years of relevant experience working in this or a related field.
- Experience in strategy design and facilitation.
- Familiar with continuous program quality improvement processes.
- Previous experience of capacity building, mentorship and coaching.
Other
The ability to read, write and speak English in a professional setting (meetings, presentations, etc.)
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, within diverse and linguistic contexts.
Excellent teamwork skills.

Working
Environment – Remote, work from home. Hours are flexible to meet global
neighbor needs. This person will have some late and early meetings.
Travel Requirements – May be required to travel up to 25% of normal schedule
