 PROJECT PLANNER

Bulyanhulu Gold Mine, Shinyanga Region, Tanzania
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Bulyahnulu Gold Mine is seeking to recruit Project Planner to join our team. The successful candidate for this position will effectively manage all the activities specified within the position profile on Bulyanhulu and Buzwagi Gold Mines: overall strategy, planning, execution and compliance to all relevant legislation as required of all Project related activities.


Reporting to: Capital Projects Superintendent
Duration: Permanent
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensuring all tasks or activities are executed and aligned with safety standard operating procedures and safe work instructions at all times
  • Work closely with Project Manager to develop and maintain detailed schedules of construction project using MS Project.
  • Develop and maintain summary level schedule reports: Gantt, milestone charts, and other tools used to support critical path analysis, two weeks forecast, priority based resource allocations, performance variances, and to support cost/schedule integration.
  • Develop weekly, monthly reports for monitoring the Project progress
  • Gather and analyze information to prepare reports on the progress of projects. Frequent on -site visits to review construction progress required.
  • Support the project management team in the planning, tracking, analysis, and reporting of projects, including dashboard maintenance.
  • Work in collaboration with project management team to drive consistency of the project scheduling approach to facilitate accuracy in project execution and reporting.
  • Troubleshoot and monitor potential scheduling problems.
  • Maintain accurate records/paperwork.
  • Facilitate and participate in weekly schedule reviews.
  • Co-ordinate day to day meetings with Construction supervisor & contractors
  • Ensure that all safety incidents are reported and investigated according to procedure and on time.
  • Assist with any other accident investigation when required.
  • Ensure that all daily, weekly and monthly department reports are completed accurately, on time and with appropriate content.


QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor / Diploma of Science in Engineering
  • Certification in Project Management / MS Project / Primavera will be added advantage
  • Registered with AQRB and TIQS

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of construction project management experience
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience using MS Project


SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Proficient in Micro Soft Office
  • Superior interpersonal and demonstrated facilitation skills, including the ability to motivate and influence others, build effective interpersonal relationships
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and writing skills, to include solid experience in writing functional and technical specifications.
  • Excellent communication skills
