BOARD ADVISOR ROLE – TANZANIA

 

Background Information

Our client is a FinTech company that offers a set of technological solutions to banks. They are seeking the services of a seasoned and well-connected bank executive that has a strong reputation and influence within local banking and regulator circles.

 In order to enhance their operations, they seek to fill the above position with a suitably qualified and competent local Board Advisor to be based in Tanzania.

 

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES;

1.       Leverage their experience and relationships (within the regulator) to advise and help the company overcome regulatory hurdles.

2.       Leverage their experience and relationships (within the banking sector) to facilitate the company in its ongoing discussions with banks.

3.       Facilitate product introduction sessions between the company and Tanzania based banks.

4.       Coach the senior management on interacting with C-suite executives.

5.       Coach the senior management on interacting with the regulators.

6.       Critique and contribute toward the improvement of the company’s value proposition to banks. 

7.       Enrich the company’s product offering by connecting it with highly experienced subject matter experts in areas of risk management.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

The job holder should have the following qualifications:

1.       Worked in the banking sector for at least 10 years.

2.       Worked as a CEO or MD of a Tier 1, 2, or 3 Tanzanian based bank for not less than 2 years or served as a board member in a Tier 1, 2, or 3 Tanzanian bank for not less than 3 years.

 

THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THE JOB

The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and competencies.

 

1.       Has a solid reputation with the regulator.

2.       Has credible relationships with the regulator. 

3.       Has credible relationships with CEOs and board members in at least 5 Tier 1, 2, or 3 Tanzanian based banks. 

4.       Passionate about advancing technology in the banking sector. 

5.       Passionate about mentoring and coaching young executives in the tech banking sector.
