We currently work with more than 650 radio partners in 40 sub-Saharan African countries to fight poverty and food insecurity through high-quality radio programs that help small-scale African farmers help themselves. Together, we reach tens of millions of small-scale farmers with life-changing information and opportunities to have a stronger voice in their own development.

Title: Finance & Administration Intern

Report to: Country Finance Lead


·         Deal with staff matters including personnel files records and managing staff leave.

·         Preparation of staff monthly payroll.

·         Banking duties including writing checks.

·         Petty cash management.

·         Monthly Bank reconciliation.

·         Paying bills including making payment to different suppliers.

·         Writing Payment vouchers.

·         Preparation of payments to radio stations for airtime and Broadcasters for production of radio programs.

·         Preparation and submission of statutory deductions to relevant authorities e.g. PAYE to TRA, NSSF, SDL,WCF,HESLB

·         TT transfer to different countries for projects or scrip writing

·         Manage day to day operations of finance dept.

·         Assisting in posting transactions in Quick book

·         Participate in internal audits of projects supported by Farm Radio in Tanzania

·         Support audits commissioned by donor agency and Farm Radio in Canada

·         Verifying expenditure reports from field activities to ensure financial and reporting standards are met.

·         Supervision of office supplies inventory.



  • Degree in accounting, business and administration or finance related fields
  • Competency with computer skills is essential
  • Exceptional time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Proficiency in English and Swahili as working languages
