The position

Major Responsibilities
Support establishment and implementation of a gender responsive Performance Management Framework (PMF) of AGECS subprojects. ensuring that AKFEA MERL Minimum Standards are always maintained.
Ensure M&E data needs are integrated into programme quality tools and do not exist as separate M&E or data collection tools and process.
Design Programme data quality assessment system including data auditing protocols and process and conduct data verifications, validation, and quality assurance.
Support the project coordinator, regional MERL personnel and key partner’s M&E personnel to plan and implement the various M&E activities such as baseline, midline and endline studies.
Regularly collect, compile, and analyze project data to inform progress on targets.
Establish a high -quality project, end-to-end M&E data management system. Ensure all data management systems adhere to AKF’s Safeguarding and data protection policies.
Support development of appropriate data collection tools and analysis protocols as required and conduct data validation and quality assurance.
Maintain regular data backups, security, and confidentiality at all times in accordance with AKF and Donor requirements.
Provide timely and quality M&E data input to the regular (monthly, quarterly, and annual) program reports.
Review all project reports to ensure that information on indicators is accurate, relevant, and well presented.
Work with CSO’s partners to establish community feedback loops to ensure they are used in program improvement. Facilitate regular reviews, reflections and feedback sharing with CSO’s partners and management to ensure continuous learning and maximum utilization of M&E data for decision-making.
Support the CSO’s partners to document success stories and impact from the ground maintaining a rich database of stories with photos and case studies on lessons learnt and best practices.
Support CSO’s partners where necessary to strengthen data collection process and provide feedback where necessary.
Participate in updating of AKF online technologies in M&E including the Awards Information Management System (AIMS) and Global Reach System (GRS).
Participate in internal and external risk assessment activities with CSO partners and consolidate and analyses data on a monthly/quarterly basis.
Commit to improving expertise knowledge and skills in his/her area of specialization and be willing to offer technical support in building the capacity of other M&E and program staff.
Actively participate in a broad range of M&E functions as part of the AKFT MERL team.

The requirements

At least a bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Education, or any other relevant discipline from a reputable institution of higher learning.
A minimum of five years hands on experience in M&E for International Development projects, particularly in Civil society and education related programs with a strong gender equality component.
Expert knowledge on Result Measurement Frameworks, able to design high quality M&E Plans, Data Collection Tools, Sampling Methods and Quantitative/Qualitative Data Analysis is required.
Excellent computer skills, including professional working experience with Data analysis and Visualization packages such as Excel, SPSS, Stata, Power-BI, Tableau, NVivo, etc.
Experience in managing databases and online/digital data collection systems such as ODK and Kobo Collect will be an added advantage.
Exceptional communication skills in written and oral English and Swahili languages including excellent presentations skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks with competing demands and deadlines under minimal supervision.
Able to learn from and adapt to complex situations, with a problem-solving and open-minded attitude.
Able to work independently, remotely, and within a diverse multicultural team.
Familiarity with donors’ requirements for Global Affairs Canada (GAC) is an advantage
Understanding of Human Centred Design, Project Cycle Management, M&E and Education Policy in Tanzania strongly preferred.
High emotional and social quotient, exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
An excellent team player, able to think and adapt proactively to changing situations.
