Job Summary:
Waste management officer, will create and put the plans in place to provide a reliable and effient service
for the collection, transportion and disposal of waste. He/she will also be responsible for ensuring legislation
is followed and budgets are managed effectively. Waste management and recycling coordination may be
combined into one role, so an understanding of local and national environmental policies may be required.

Reports To : HOD Waste and environment Manager.

Job Summary:
Waste management officer, will create and put the plans in place to provide a reliable and effient service
for the collection, transportion and disposal of waste. He/she will also be responsible for ensuring legislation
is followed and budgets are managed effectively. Waste management and recycling coordination may be
combined into one role, so an understanding of local and national environmental policies may be required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Ensuring company policies are followed
• Manage statutory Compliance for all operations
• Overseeing collection, transportation and disposal of waste, to ensure its efficiency and prevent contamination -of air, land or water.
• Ensuring that health, safety and security rules are followed.
• Formulating disposal methods and developing new approach/Methods on waste management
• Assisting customers whenever necessary
• Identify potential clients in the target market and complete appropriate research on the prospective
client’s business and services needed.
• Closes new business deals by coordinating requirement; developing and negotiating contracts and
integrating contract requirement with business.
• Ensuring consistent standard of customer service
• Resolving customer issues to their overall satisfaction
• Working closely with the waste and environment Manager to lead staff.
• Supervising team and providing additional training and coaching as needed to ensure everyone is
performing their job properly.
• Optimizing profits by Controlling costs
• Completing tasks assigned by the WNE Manager accurately and efficiently
• Prepare and present all required reports.

Education
-Work requires Bachelor Degree in Environmental Science or Public Health from reputable University
or Institute.
-Experience Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in waste management activities and safety issues in well recognized facility.

-Experience in mining sector will be added advantage.
