Product Manager

Job Purpose;
Responsible for executing the regional agenda on Retail Deposits, supporting Cash Management initiatives and lending to deliver sustainable growth in Retail in Tanzania. Responsible for growing market share and increasing client level profitability by supporting new acquisition and relationship teams and portfolio management of all Retail Deposit & lending products based on client needs.

Key Responsibilities;
Business Performance
• Implement and commercialise global standard Product program for Retail products in Tanzania.
• Collaborate effectively with the Segment teams, Client Acquisition and Relationship teams and Global Banking (GB) / Transaction Banking (TB) to leverage the eco-system and help deliver budgeted Balance Sheet and Non Funded Income (NFI) targets
• Execute global standard Product & Portfolio Optimization strategies
• Implement the integrated product segment strategy to launch/re-launch the program value proposition and specific enablers and track program performance along with the segment team
• Optimize fees and charges to create value for clients in line with Fair Outcomes for Clients principles
• Support Retail Banking Learning Academy for the development of appropriate training content for the acquisition, relationship and service teams
• Responsible for Portfolio health on relevant products – delivery through regular engagement with operations, retail analytics and Strategic Business Analytics (SBA) in country and region to track portfolio performance (through lead indicators) and taking necessary actions to ensure balance build and activation in line with budgeted objectives
• Responsible for ensuring that governance and controls around Retail products are in line with the global Product Programme Guide (PPG). In particular, ensuring that there is a documented and standardised process around account opening and roll over of term deposits

Product Launches & Product Maintenance
• Execute the global Product standardization and Product rationalization agenda across Retail products
• Work with segment and frontline teams to identify client needs and launch existing global product solutions to meet these needs. In the absence of existing global solutions work with the regional team to have the relevant proposition developed as a global solution for implementation

Product & Service Delivery
• Have oversight and ownership on end-to-end (standard) process to ensure execution of on-boarding for clients and fulfilment of products through engagement with relevant stakeholders involved in executing the standard process to ensure we deliver a seamless Client Value Proposition (CVP)
• Complaints & Client Experience: Collaborate closely with the Client Experience and Process Governance (CEPG) teams to Identify gaps and design failures in existing process and products and work with global and regional product teams to solve for endemic design issues to improve overall product and Service delivery

Skills & Requirements
• 4 years of banking experience and product knowledge.
• Ability to create and develop product strategies and plans.
• Ability to develop marketing programs in collaboration with sales.
• Skills to analyze data from multiple viewpoints including market data, competitive offerings, and other information sources.

Employee Banking Relationship Manager

Job Purposes;
§ Meet the business objectives initiated by the respective country Retail Clients business
§ Relationship Management of existing Corporate effectively to facilitate portfolio growth.
§ Driving Activations and penetration of signed up schemes.
§ To assess the risk profiles of customer segments and contribute to the Development of effective control measures within the PDD.

Key Responsibilities;
Business Driver
• Achieve team sales target and increase sales productivity
• To grow the portfolio through a focused market segment approach by creating effective relationships that maximize revenues and Asset growth
• To support the campaign concept and analyze campaign findings against proposals.
• Achieve preferred segment relationship penetration, multi-product selling or bundles around anchor product (assets, wealth etc). All relevant internal and external certification to be completed prior to referring / selling wealth products.
• Arrange / create sales activities
• Build and manage relationship with business partners / intermediaries / channels
• Fulfills corporate employees' banking needs including payroll and other retail products
• Drive the Employee Banking one bank agenda
• Advice the Business on companies which exhibit high risk policies and practices hence control and manage risk

Customer Experience
• Ensure sales team has the right culture and attitude
• Operational quality – manage sales controllable error, rejection, approval rate, TAT etc.
• Engage Credit & Operations and other relevant stakeholders for smooth approval and customer on-boarding experience
• Manage customer experience

People Management
• Lead and engage team
• Proactive performance/scorecard management – motivation & retention of talent
• Train and Coach the team
• Upgrade people management skill constantly

Risk Assurance
• Ensure CDD, MLP & TCF diligence
• Zero tolerance – Fraud, Mis-selling
• Discipline in HR and training related matters
• Adhere to all policies, guidelines and procedures, comply with local regulatory requirements, reflect best practices
• Adhere to operational risk controls and procedures in day to day sales management
• To ensure no adverse findings in internal / external audit, governance and compliance review
• To comply with all applicable money laundering prevention procedures and, in particular, report any suspicious activity to the Unit Money Laundering Prevention Officer and line manager

Qualifications & Experience
• Must be a graduate. MBA's will be preferred.
• Sales experience of at-least 2-3 years of which 1 year must have been in managing a direct sales team will be preferred
• Should possess strong people management and leadership skills to manage approx 10-20 sales people.
• Experience in handling Deposit and Asset Products of a Bank would be an advantage but not a pre-requisite.
• Good knowledge of the selected market and customer segments would be an advantage.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to influence outcomes.
• Strong inter-personal skills, which encourages and promotes enthusiasm and team spirit.
